Frequently Asked Questions

Below you will find a list of Frequently asked questions.

How long will I be in the recovery room after surgery?

Recovery periods vary from person to person and individual procedure. As a general expectation, longer surgeries require longer recovery periods and shorter procedures requires shorter ones. Your safety is always of utmost importance and we adjust recovery times to meet your individual needs.

Why can't I have anything to eat or drink before my procedure?

It is important to abide by the recommendations of your physician prior to your procedure. When being administered a sedative or general anesthesia the body's reflexes are temporarily stopped. If your stomach has food or liquids in it, the possibility of vomiting or regurgitation can occur. Without your body's ability to clear that material, it can enter your lungs causing difficulty breathing and damage to your lungs.

Do I need someone to drive me home and stay with me after surgery?

Yes, for your safety you will need to have an adult drive you home after any procedure requiring sedation or anesthesia. You will need someone available to assist you at home.

Patients cannot drive for 24 hours after having sedation or anesthesia.

Why am I required to pay my deductible and co-insurance the day of the procedure?

The policy of our center, as with many health care facilities across the nation, is that patients pay their portion of the co-insurance and any remaining deductible at the time of service. This helps to keep the collection prices down, keeping the cost of business at a minimum, and providing a more cost effective model for our patients.
